Abstract:

Data is growing every second. According to IBM, 90% of the data that is there today were created in last two years. This makes database techniques and management increasingly complex. Due to economic turmoil in recent years all organizations are required to perform with utmost efficiency. Organizations are now required to delve into big data to analyze business scenarios from all possible ways to extract meaningful inference. Higher education is no exception. The pressure is often on IT. This paper establishes that IT alone cannot solve problem and successfully implement business intelligence (BI) initiative. BI is not only a technology implementation; it is also part of how organizations operate. This paper prescribes a management framework – Quadra P – that helps implement a successful BI initiative in any organization. Researches find out that 70%-80% BI project fails for some reason. Quadra-P framework eliminates the risks associated with BI implementation, thus reducing the risks of failures. This paper describes Quadra-P framework and a case study of how Quadra-P successfully implemented a robust BI and analytics platform in a very short time at CSU.
