Cloud computing is emerging as the new computing methodology which introduces huge opportunities to setup and manage large scale computing infrastructures with ease. It has changed the way by which IT services are being utilized for distributed computing and information availability. Data over cloud is virtualized across many host machines somewhere on the web to which user has no control; which means that information security is a major challenge for the implementation of the cloud as the users will be worried for their data safety. Security is one of the major key factors which unpins the adoption of cloud for many corporate across the globe. Thus, security issues must be considered prior to considering Cloud Computing. This paper discusses Cloud Computing and information availability, categories of the security threats, major risks threats and vulnerabilities and the necessary recommendations which can be used as a set of best practice guidelines while implementing the cloud architecture.
