Abstract:

Quick Response to business is considered as important factor to ensure company’s competiveness. A number of rapid prototyping processes exists. An improper selection will have a negative impact on profitability of a firm. As a consequence, selecting the proper method is a complex task for the maker. Rapid Prototyping process selection is a multicriteria decision making problem involving a large number of attributes. A systematic approach to rapid prototyping process selection approach is necessary in order to select the best alternative.

The aim of this paper is to present a novel inner product of vectors method which will select the best rapid prototyping process which considers both qualitative and quantities attributes. An example is taken to validate the proposed method. This method helps the Rapid Prototyping user to select the best technology that meets the requirement.
