Abstract:

Purpose: To identify the reasons for using SNS, understanding the extent of trust posed on SNS and to understand the correlation ship between the variables identified to study trust.

Findings: Study observed that though there is a vast literature on social networking sites and perceived trust it is necessary to frame the dynamics of inter-group and intra-group interactions

Conclusion: We found a strong correlation between creation of fake accounts and getting embarrassed by wrong information posted by others about me on my profile. And even people are afraid about those who have created fake account and people get embarrassed by wrong information posted by others about them on their profile. Therefore, the higher the level of trust an individual has with SNS, the more likely individual will find the combined usability and satisfaction of the social networking sites.
