Abstract: 

In new era employee retention is a crucial issue and dispute for all existing organizations. We have so many responsible factors which inflame the employees to retain or switch over the organization. These could be external, internal and the combination of both the factors. In relation to this matter human resource practices matters a lot. Organizations are regularly confronting this dispute and so many efforts have been done and so many researches have implemented to face the scenario. So the following paper is a slight landmark to it. The purpose of this paper was to provide a review of the existing research in the area of employee retention strategies. A systematic literature review methodology was adopted. The existing literature was reviewed to find out how talent can be retained in the organizations during turbulent times from the journals of repute. This paper provides an overview of reasons of augmentation in attrition rate,  motivation, management, retention of Generation X and Generation Y employees. In Organization- managers who are having employees who are satisfied with their team workers, superiors, and subordinates will be happier & will focus towards the organization’s success. Employees who are satisfied with their Organization’s commitment towards society and environment would be considered to be more positive, more affianced and more dynamic than those who are working for less answerable employers. This paper traces how organizations have used various  strategies to retain the efficient human resource during turbulent times. This paper presents a concrete overview regarding the application of retention strategies includes adopting SERLO  process for retention or layoffs, employee involvement, recognition, advancement, development and pay based on performance.
