Beam-Column joint plays a very important role of any Reinforced Concrete (RC) frame structures. The connection where a beam intersects with a column is called a Beam-Column joint. As column provides support to beam, slab, infill panels and other load components of any structure, the maximum shear force occurs at the beam-column joint. On the contrary, due to the fixity of this joint it also experiences a critical bending moment from both the column and the beam. The main intention of this paper is to review the various behavior behavioral effects of beam-column joints under various critical conditions.
