Nature is the best manager. Geographical profile of any region show hills, planes and valleys in the natural settings. The natural streams from various heights (Hills) make the allowance for water collection in the form of natural lakes in these valleys. All such water bodies are naturally connected to each other via overflow channels thus maintaining the water level through all such water bodies. Ramtek from Nagpur district witnesses this natural setting which has its mention in the ‘Meghdoot’ poem by the great poet (Kavikulguru) ‘Kalidasa’. Settlements and other developments in Ramtek are influenced by its natural setting. This paper gives an attempt to site and study the water resources in Ramtek which needs to be developed along with the conservation of these water bodies and natural hills in the natural settings for the environmental concerns.
