Social networking websites has become one of very popular way meeting and interacting people online worldwide. Users now spend a significant amount of their time on these popular social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Zorpia, LinkedIn, hi5 etc. Users also store and share a lot of personal information on these sites. These websites have enabled people to cross geographic boundaries but same time it opens the door for cyber criminals to use spamming techniques and attract people to misguide them. Tagging and anonymous posting of messages has been a matter of concern for every one now. In this paper we will analyze how spamming is spreading and affecting social network users. We will also see what measures have been taken so for to counter these spammers. And at the end we will discuss what best can be done to combat bad evil so called spam in our digital social networking world.
