Education is the key which can open many locks in the socio-economic fabric of many developing countries like India. A major chunk of the population in our country lives in rural and semi-rural habitation. These areas are quite underdeveloped and despite continuous efforts by the government and many private NGO’s, the literacy rate in these places remains very low and the crunch for resources continue to increase. For a person to get good education, he has to move to the cities which are becoming over-populated day-by-day. In this paper, we propose a cloud-based education model called ‘ShikshaBadal’ which provides educational services to the rural poor without burning a hole in the pocket of the government.
