Abstract:

In the Internet of Things (IoT), embedded devices communicate with each other in a wireless fashion through a single link over the Internet. The proliferation of technology has led to  the widespread acceptance of Internet of Things in the day-to-day operations of the mankind. On the other hand, Cloud computing is also one of the most popular technologies which have, only recently, dynamically changed the nature of organizations and businesses. The application of Cloud computing in real life scenarios has also become popular in the recent years. Therefore, advancement in Cloud computing and Internet of things can be taken advantage of, and applied, for solving real time problems. However, this amalgamation of the two technologies poses an added issue of data security. This paper is aimed at the analysis of information security and privacy aspects of an implementation of Internet of Things. The implementation consists of a sensor, an embedded microcontroller device, a wireless communication medium, a Cloud platform service, and a mobile communication device.
