We live in the age of information which is distributed. This information should be secured like any other asset from unknown users. Cryptography is a sophisticated scientific art – combining mathematics, physics, computer science and electrical engineering. Any organization today requires dynamism, abstraction and resource sharing for maximum success. These requirements are obtained from cloud computing technology which acts as a backbone of a server. Security of the cloud is the key concern since the information and data is placed on the cloud. In this paper, we compare several cryptographic based security algorithms on certain characteristics from the perspective of cloud computing technology.
