Web applications are part of our daily life. Internet has become the most valuable asset that helps the world to show their proficiencies. While Web applications have gained  importance on the Internet, security is important thing to worry. There are currently more than 1 Billion websites on the web. This number is increasing everyday more the world gets linked with the internet and technology makes it tranquil for people to have a platform to present their ideas thought things like a website. This growth due to internet is being  facilitated by the tense use of technologies like open-source Content Management Systems (CMS). Over all the websites developed one-third of the websites online are hosted on by four key platforms:  WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and Magento. Here, we have select WordPress which is leading the CMS market with 60% market share of the entire total market share. With the rapid development of WordPress sites, the presence of a variety of security vulnerabilities in this CMS are gradually exposed. Here, we summarized some online reports and mentions high risk vulnerabilities of WordPress, list out some latest attack perform on WordPress and some basic but most important security measures which protect our site to attackers.
